Learning Design Head, AI Literacy Tutorial

Gia Microschool Gia Microschool (May–September 2025)

Designed a school-wide AI literacy tutorial, developing content for both students and academic staff to build foundational understanding of the science behind AI and large language models. Working with a team of five students, co-designed a mandatory tutorial centered on three core dimensions of AI literacy: functional AI literacy (using AI tools effectively), critical AI literacy (evaluating limitations, bias, and risks), and rhetorical AI literacy (understanding how AI outputs shape communication and persuasion).

Learning Design Fellow

Co-designed the AI literacy tutorial for all incoming HGSE students (approximately 700 students), a mandatory requirement prior to the start of coursework. The module introduces responsible and effective AI use in higher education, examines the distinction between school-wide and course-specific AI policies, and features faculty perspectives to highlight how expectations around AI use vary across disciplines.

Course Designer and Co-Instructor

Designed and co-taught a three-day active learning mini-course focused on using and critically evaluating AI tools in learning design. Students from computer science, education policy, and business backgrounds worked in groups to develop AI literacy skills through project-based learning. By the end of the course, learners applied multiple AI tools to design lesson plans and learning experiences for in-person, remote, synchronous, and asynchronous learning. The course received over 100 applications for 20 available spots.
